Since I am working on an American contract, I have July 4th off, and I thought it would be nice to activate a park with Bill (VE3MRX). This park is a 3-fer, also being a Bruce Trail (CA-5628) and the Niagara Biosphere (CA-0063). This park was my 57th distinct park.
It was lovely weather, and we set off from Oakville at 9:30, finished up by 11:30 so Bill could get back in time for other activities.
The park was absolutely ideal for easy activation, as the parking lot has a tall dead tree at the end that we parked under. I used a random-wire end-fed QRP Guys antenna. I activated first, on 20m CW, and then spotted Bill who worked both 20m and 40m.
Here's a map of the QSOs. 12 QSPs in 20 minutes, as I wanted to make sure that Bill had a chance to get his activation in as well.
